2.50 - 2. Resurge will be ridden by Chris Catlin
3.20 - 4. First Service will be ridden by Jack Mitchell

Market movers

The big mover here is the Kevin Ryan-trained North South Divide in the 3.50.

He is into 2-1 (from 7-2) with Stan James, 2-1 (from 3) with Blue Square and 9-4 (from 7-2) with Bet365.

Racy has gone odds-on with Betfred in the opener at 1.20. They make him a 10-11 chance and Tinaar is into 6-4 (from 15-8) for the2.50.

Gordon Elliott, trainer of Hoopy had this to say

"We have trained Hoopy for this race all year and he has a nice light weight. You need plenty of luck in a race like this but if he gets it he might be there or thereabouts.”

Leopardstown - 3:05  around 20-1

Progressive FORTIFICATION may be able to make it four from four over fences, an 8lb higher mark since completing his hat-trick last time still leaving him very fairly treated.

I know his owner is running the horse today to try to qualify it for a race at Cheltenham

Three significant movers in the morning markets from interesting stables. Mick Quinlan's Celtic Sovereign is all the rage for the 2.0. He is 3-1 best from as big as 8-1 and only 5-2 with the likes of Hills and totesport.

Unfortunately the other two are in the same race at 3.10 with Atacama Sunset, so unlucky here six days ago when getting no run between the first two which cost her third. She is in 7-2 from 13-2 with Hills but Ladbrokes and Victor Chandler were nearer the mark at 4-1 but have still shortened to 7-2.

City Stables is the other springer and from the Michael Wigham stable, coming off a 183-day break. He is 11-2 from 9-1 with Corals and 13-2 from 12-1 with Blue Square, which mirrors other firms.

Good times continue for AIDAN O'BRIEN and the future also looks good.

Derby hope Jan Vermeer delights Murtagh and FAME AND GLORY bounced-back

AIDAN O'BRIEN worked Classic hopeful Jan Vermeer, a 12-1 for the Investec Derby, after racing at the Curragh on Monday.

Ridden by Johnny Murtagh, Jan Vermeer overtook his work companion stylishly and finished about three lengths clear at the end of the gallop.

O'Brien said: "We asked him to do a bit more than the other horses [that worked after racing on Monday] and Johnny was happy with him.

"It's possible the French Guineas might come a bit soon for Jan Vermeer. There is also the Irish 2,000 Guineas and some of the Derby trials to consider and the Prix du Jockey Club is also there.

"We'll wait and see how he is after today's work and make a decision about plans a bit later on."

Fame And Glory back to form at the Curragh

High Chaparral European Breeders Fund Mooresbridge Stakes (Group 3) 1m2f

FAME AND GLORY bounced-back from an odds-on defeat on his seasonal reappearance to easily land a fifth career victory at Group level.

Winner of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby last year, the son of Montjeu was confidently ridden by Johnny Murtagh and came home five lengths to the good over Recharge at prohibitive odds of 3-10.

As expected, Dixie Music set a decent pace for his stablemate and led the field into the straight.Murtagh, sitting fourth of the five runners at this point, switched his mount from the rail as the field straightened for home and immediately moved into contention.

As the furlong pole loomed, Fame And Glory struck the front and was merely pushed out by Murtagh for an easy victory. The win was a welcome tonic for trainer Aidan O'Brien, whose St Nicholas Abbey was a beaten favourite of the StanJames.com 2,000 Guineas over the weekend.

The winning trainer said: “I am delighted with that. The even gallop and better ground suited him much better today and he was showing at home that he had come on for his reappearance.

“Johnny said there was more to come from the horse and we are likely to return for the Tattersalls Gold Cup on May 23.

“We will see how he gets on in that before making any further plans. He obviously has plenty of options later in the season.”

William Hill have left the winner at 12-1 for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in October.
